Born March 20, this loveable Pisces is a six-year-old child in an eight-foot, two-inch-tall body. The young ones relate to him because he is a lot like them: he is charged with the excitement of discovery, he sometimes makes mistakes, and he is devastated when things do not go his way. But Big Bird always tries again. He believes with all his heart that there's no such thing as a stupid question.
Indeed, his persistence in finding solutions gives Sesame Place its sense of wonder and is an important encouragement for kids. He not only likes figuring things out for himself, he loves helping others out - especially best friend Mr. Snuffleupagus. Give Big Bird his favorite treat, a birdseed milkshake and you just might hear him break into his favorite song, "ABC-DEF-GHI." And as he'll tell you himself, "I'm too tall to be short."
